PostScript
PostScript is a document format language in the same family as PDF. It is a full stack-based programming language with vector graphics and typesetting primitives making it useful for rich descriptions of images and text.
The original Adobe PostScript language specification dates to the 1980s, and the language is nearly ubiquitous in printer drivers.
