| 6 | This talk will address three areas in teaching transport phenomena in the |
|---|
| 7 | materials science and engineering curriculum as it is practiced currently and |
|---|
| 8 | envisioned to change in the future at MIT. The first covers innovative |
|---|
| 9 | approaches to teaching individual concepts and structuring a transport course |
|---|
| 10 | to meet the needs of upper-level undergraduates in an existing curriculum. The |
|---|
| 11 | second introduces a new internet resource with exercises which may be used for |
|---|
| 12 | homework assignments or supplementary reading examples in this subject. The |
|---|
| 13 | third discusses changes in course design to support new curriculum needs in |
|---|
| 14 | materials processing, from computational modeling to micro- and macroeconomic |
|---|
| 15 | implications. |
